This page outlines the policy taking shape for launch. The final, binding version will be published here before the marketplace opens for real transactions.

The principle

You pay for a handle; you receive the handle. Payment is held by the marketplace while the transfer completes — it is not released to the seller until the transfer is done.

If a transfer fails

If a seller cannot complete the transfer, the transaction is cancelled and the full amount is returned to the buyer.

After a completed transfer

Once a handle has been transferred and confirmed, the sale is final — a username is a unique digital good that cannot be 'returned' in a meaningful way. Disputes about a transfer's completion are reviewed case by case by marketplace support.
